      @simevidas Reading opacity like this is one of the few exceptions where the browser knows it can return the value without doing Layout. So it's basically just that: the exception to the rule.

    @simevidas But yeah, the quote isn't entirely correct. That's pretty much the point of the article, I guess :) It's a good rule of thumb tho, because usually (and it was true before this optimization), it's always Style > Layout (then at some point, when the thread is released) > render
