          @erikdotdev iOS Safari is not so predictable as you may think. For example, it behaves differently in PWA mode. If you add a manifest to your site and someone adds your site to the home screen, audio playback suddenly breaks, long pressing a link doesn't show a context menu, etc.

        @erikdotdev One of the reason why so many devs want competition on iOS is because of all the Safari/WebKit bugs that have existed for yrs and no one is fixing. For example: x.com/RGadellaa/status/1490407690887176193

      @erikdotdev True browser competition will allow users to switch, which in turn will create incentive to fix the Safari/WebKit issues that make users switch in the first place.

    @erikdotdev Right now, Apple has little incentive to fix anything. A broken web experience will drive users to native apps and that's where Apple can exert control, collect their tax.
