    1. The new Google TV "app" remote now lives in two apps. Better yet, they are not the same; minor layout diffs, no D-pad option and no Quick Toggle in the Google Home version afaik. Why do it once when Google can do it twice.

    During I/O, they said the remote would be "built right into Android" and then they decided to do this. They replaced a stand alone app with two separate implementations in *other* apps and no way to add a home screen shortcut. Oh, Google 🥲

      "We have this app, it does one thing and could do it very well *but* we've lost interest in it, so it hasn't been updated in over 2 yrs or so. Now, *what if* we shove it into multiple, other apps and let them do their own implementations? How amazing is *that?!*"
