I see this argument - "if the web is so great on [other OS], people can switch, that's competition, too" - a lot. But switching browsers *within* a platform is a lot easier - because it's cheaper! - than switching between platforms.

@mtomweb @migueldeicaza @feross @kurtseifried @mtom App purchases, other devices, etc, that may no longer be compatible. Apple (and Google, Samsung, etc) count on this. It's called lock-in. When it comes down to the web, why not let people vote with their browser?
